Construction Update from Waterfront Seattle and Office of the Waterfront and Civic Projects: May 10, 2021

ALASKAN WAY TRAFFIC SHIFT

We’ve been sharing our progress on paving north of Columbia St for a few months now and come the weekend of May 14 you will be able to experience it for yourself! We will be opening two more blocks of the new Alaskan Way and travel lanes will shift from the current roadway to the new roadway between Yesler Way and Madison St. This change will be similar to a traffic shift completed in December 2020. The traffic shift will take place between 7 PM on Friday, May 14 and Sunday, May 16. For more information, please take a look at SDOT’s blog post!

Traffic lane configuration on Alaskan Way north of Madison St remains as it is.
